Drinking Vs. Reading
Written by Michael on September 15, 2006 – 6:57 pm -According to Wendy Brown from my local paper (The New Mexican in Santa Fe, New Mexico), Americans spend .9 percent of their income on alcoholic beverages and .3 percent of their income on reading materials.
So, three times as much is spent on booze as on books.
Delightful.
Perhaps folks are simply going to the libraries more. Will have to check that out.
Adios,
