I’d Like to Interview You If . . .
Written by Michael on February 21, 2007 – 1:45 am -You have a business or other work that could be used as a model for a part-time job for a teacher, something the teacher would do in the evenings, weekends, or during holidays.
Do you tutor, offer test-prep courses, develop online learning, offer professional development for teachers, or anything of that sort?
If so, we’d like to write about what you do at TeachMarket, a site devoted to helping teachers develop supplemental income.

I just have a suggestion that would work well with teachers’ hours - restaurant work. My husband (not a teacher - he does it so he’s home during the day w/the kids while I work) works evenings and weekends at a restaurant. Not sure if there would be enough additional work during the summer. This work is not related to teaching but that could be a good thing! A change of pace, meet new people, etc.

I am a saxophone instructor and what I do to supplement my income is that I have created information products (pdfs and CD-ROMs) of my instructional topics and sell them through my website. With a little marketing saavy, creative ideas, and a little work on expanding your catalog, you can achieve a steady, passive income.
