Barbara Sher is a One-Woman Make-Your-Dream-Life-Happen Machine

Written by Michael on March 1, 2007 – 4:04 am -

Barbara Sher has been writing and speaking, elegantly and inspirationally, about living your dream-job life longer than just about anyone I know.

I’ve devoured just about everything she’s ever written, and her words ring true.

I’ll do more complete reviews of some of her classic books down the road, but for now I simply wanted to encourage you to get to know her and her work.

While you could pick up any of her books and be the better for it within a few reading sessions, I suggest you start with one of these three books, then work on from there:

Wishcraft, about getting the life you really want.

Refuse to Choose, about having a multi-part (portfolio) career and life, pursuing many of your interests.

I Could Do Anything If I Only Knew What It Was, about self-discovery.

These are truly change-your-life kind of books.

Check ‘er out, a genuine Top 5er.

    Hi Michael,
I completely agree with you about Barbara Sher and her work. Her books, televised workshops, and bulletin board forum at her website have influenced me greatly in who and how I coach. Especially her latest book: Refuse to Choose. What a relief to finally be told there is nothing wrong with those of us who are hugely curious and not satisfied to settle for just one career path or creative endeavor in life.

In fact, I found out about Dream Jobs from fellow “scanner” and one of your authors, Chris King, and immediately added your link to the resource page of my website. You offer a wonderful resource to those testing the waters of different career choices. Thanks for that and all you do.
    Warmest Regards,
    Susan Henderson
