I know you’re thinking you don’t have the training or the skills or the contacts to get that dream job.

So . . . do this:

Go work for free for someone in the field you’d love to get involved with.  Just a couple of hours a week.

It was Mark Twain (a real Top 5er and my second favorite author of all time) who said this:  Even Noah got no salary for the first six months partly on account of the weather and partly because he was learning navigation.

Sometimes you just have to jump in on your own dime.

Cause I’m tellin’ ya this, Dream Jobber.  If you’re not willing to do that, by throwing a few freebie hours at your quest, all the excuses in the world don’t amount to a hillabeans.
