The ONLY Question That Matters for 2009, Or Any Other Year

Written by Michael on January 1, 2009 – 12:01 pm -

Q:  What are you going to do about it?

Think about that question at the deepest possible level.  Let it rumble around inside you awhile, think about it while you have a cup of coffee and stare off into the lake, or have it jostle in the noggin a bit while you run a lap or two around the block.

What are you going to do about it?

And, come on… you know what it is, right?  It’s that thing that’s been eating at you for months or years… it’s the job you hate, or the relationship you need to change, or the place you’re at in your life right now.

Okay, one more time:  What are you going to do about it?

Next step?

Yours.

Respond and let me know what actions you’re taking.

    Michael,
    How are you?
Great question. I am working on discipline in the areas of money control (in and out) and procrastination writing my latest e-book on “Portfolio Careers”.

A big thank you for being the person who started me writing e-books.

    Chris

I have been considering this for the greater part of my 69.5 years on earth! After much thought, I have concluded that this issue is systemic to none other than the beholder and judge of the actions and interactions of myself and others! Yes its none other than me, myself and I!

With that out of the way, some time ago, I concluded that it was time to clean up my act by developing my own set of principles for living well. As this is not about those elements that unfocus our good intentions sending us down dead end streets. I have decided to let money flow from good deeds rather than to deify it. As to power, I have disowned it because these two are corrupt good deeds and have always proven to be anti-spiritual by their very nature.

Thus, I have decided to focus on what I have found to be a worthy spiritual philosophy, the true gospel words and deeds of Jesus as referenced in the new testament. I am not talking about a focus on Christianity nor am I referring to the formation or following any formal religion. These have their place in the world for controlling peoples thoughts and actions. Most of these religions follow in varying degrees the bible message.

As I see it, the problem with religion appears to be that they parse what Jesus said and did to create conforming structures that perpetuate control, power and wealth for their leaders but tend to fail in espousing the spiritual philosophy of unconditional love, forgiveness of others, sharing in the harvest and take care of those in need of a helping hand.

My focus has been on understanding the factual gospel message of Jesus and following HIS directives faithfully. In this regard, I have learned to test the acts of HIS followers and to disregard any and all conflicts from the true gospels which reference what Jesus said and did.

That is what I have spent the last twenty years researching and this is what I intend as a continuing spiritual focus.

As to church, I will continue to attend, contribute and set good example for living as Jesus intended. Perhaps others will do likewise, maybe even gather in HIS name virtually or in person and ideally share the vision that was lost for a time but is found by like minded people who identify with the deep spiritual message of hope that Jesus shared with all HIS friends.

Mike, my friend, this is what I am going to do about the IT! Any takers??

    Peace,
    Owen

I meant to say that “two are corruptors of good deeds and have always proven to be anti-spiritual by their very nature.
