The Perfect Escape?
Written by Michael on July 28, 2006 – 10:27 am -Ever dreamed of chucking it all to move to a small village to run a craft business or bed and breakfast?
Well, Dream Jobs To Go author Kim LaPolla and her husband Mark have done just that. Last year they moved from California to the tiny hamlet of Greenville, New York where they run an inn and Kim offers art workshops.
Check out their inn-running adventures at InnSane, their blog about running the inn and offering workshops.
Kim is the author of two Dream Jobs To Go ebooks, How to Get Started as a Quilt Artist and How to Get Started as a Technical Writer.

Good Writer’s Blog
Written by Michael on July 13, 2006 – 3:21 pm -Anne Wayman, one of the Dream Jobs To Go authors, has an interesting blog aimed at writers. While there are hundreds of writers’ blogs out there, what I like about Anne’s is that she writes from the trenches. She’s not preachy and she delivers advice with a soft touch.
On top of that, she posts regularly and she’s been at it for well over a year now, so I trust she’ll keep at this.
In her blog at The Golden Pencil, she’s currently in the middle of a series called “31 Days to Better Freelance Writing,” and she’s had prior advice on how to eliminate the inevitable feast-and-famine aspect of freelancing, how to get paid for your work, and all sorts of other in-the-writing-business sorts of tips.
Among her dozens of writing credits, Anne is the author of How to Bum Your Way Around the World on a Boat.Â
Check it out.

Best Job Blogs and Ezines
Written by Michael on July 9, 2006 – 1:11 am -I’m looking for the best job or career blogs and ezines.
If you regularly read one you really enjoy, please send me a link so that I can include it in the resources section I’m building for this site.
While I’ll consider any general interest blog or ezine, I’m especially interested in those that focus on the life of that writer and his specific job.
Thanks much!

Journalist At The Front
Written by Michael on June 24, 2006 – 10:35 am -A blog about news reporting, from the front lines around the globe . . .
Kevin Sites works alone — traveling, writing, reporting, and transmitting — as a journalist in worn-torn areas. He’s been to virtually every corner of the globe, including the Middle East, Southeast Asia, Central Asia, South America, and Eastern Europe.
As Yahoo!’s first news correspondent, Sites will spend the next year covering every major global conflict for Kevin Sites in the Hot Zone on Yahoo! News. Yahoo! feels that most of these conflicts are underreported by the mainstream media and Sites has agreed to place himself in harm’s way as he writes about the conflicts.
There are some amazing stories herein.
