Free Podcasting Courses
Written by Michael on March 26, 2008 – 3:16 pm -Please feel free to pass this around or link to it.
Open to all comers.
I have some good news for you. I toil away at my ‘day job’ over at InfoSource Learning. One of our divisions there, Teachbits.com, is the teacher-to-teacher marketplace where teachers can buy, sell, or share learning materials.
I’ve spent the last few months at various educational conferences and trade shows, and one of the hottest topics at each conference has been the use of podcasts in and for the classroom.
But, as you know, podcasting is a hot topic in general, not just with teachers.
So . . . that’s why I’m excited to tell that I want to give you (freebies . . . no charge, no hidden costs, no sweat) access to three online podcasting courses. We’re making this offer to all of our Teachbits participants (which is no charge as well).
These online little jewels (each about 90 minutes long) take you all the way through the podcasting basics and simple-to-understand terminology to integrating podcasts in the classroom. Each course is written by a been-there-done-that-in-the-classroom teacher, but they apply to everyone in just about any walk of life or business.
Good, yummy, useful stuff. Check ‘em out.
We normally sell these courses to entire school districts for their teachers’ professional development needs, and the charge is somewhere in the $25 per-course-per-teacher range, but . . . for you, again, no charge, no hidden costs, no sweat.
To sign up:
You’ll need to be a Contributor (no charge for that either) at Teachbits.com, so you should sign up there first.
Go to http://www.teachbits.com/sell/ to create your account (no charge) as a Contributor. You’ll need to remember your ID and password!
Go to http://freelearning.howtomaster.com/and use your Teachbits ID and password – they’ll work here as well. Use PODCAST as your free passcode to get into the courses at the freelearning site.
Questions or problems? Simply send me an email at mwerner(AT)infosourcelearning.com and we’ll get on the case.
Happy podcasting to you,
Michael

Dream Jobs Dialog Borrower’s Club — Freebies for You
Written by Michael on April 30, 2007 – 1:44 am -I’ve read hundreds of books.
Loaned or given most of them away.
But, no matter how many I give away, the bookshelves just keep filling up.
So, I thought maybe there’s a way I could share some of my book abundance with you.
We’ll start by focusing on my library of self-help, dream job, career, success, and motivational books and CD/tape sets.
Here’s how it’ll work.
1. TO THIS POST, add a Comment with your name and tell me that you would like to join the no-charge, no-risk, no-sweat DJD Borrower’s Club.
2. There’s one “entry fee,” and it’s this. Along with your comment, you must tell me how you define success.
3. Then I’ll put up a list of a few dozen books/CDs (mostly in as-new condition; I’m very kind to books) I’d like to loan out.
4. You’ll send me (to blog@dreamjobsdialog.com) your name and address and I’ll mail you the book of choice. I’ll pay the shipping.
5. You promise to return the book to me in the same condition you received it within two weeks of receipt. I want to be able to send it onto someone else. You’ll pay the shipping to get it back to me.
Sound good?
Respond here to this post and we’ll get this thing rolling.
Happy reading,
Michael

Week-Long Dream Jobs (Men Only) — NO Experience Required
Written by Michael on April 18, 2007 – 1:59 am -This one is right up my alley (or, more likely, would have been in my younger days), and seems like it’ll be a ton-o-fun. Ladies, please let the men in your lives know about this one.Â
This is a chance to win WEEK-LONG DREAM JOBS – NO WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Mennen, the maker of new Speed Stick 24/7 Gametime, is seeking average people for a chance to win one of six one week-long dream jobs that include an exotic test car driver, personal assistant to a WWE Superstar, Maxim.com model scout, rock band critic, video game reviewer and a stand-up comedian.
Unique to this “job†contest, relevant experience is open to personal interpretation and the desire to succeed trumps all of the usual qualifications. Everyone will now have the chance to prove high school teachers across the nation wrong and show that they can amount to something on charm and creativity alone.
Applicants are offered the chance to apply on Guy Mennen, a satirical self-help website that teaches the “philosophy†of brand ambassador and life coach Guy Mennen. With a simple video application, hopefuls are encouraged to demonstrate originality, desire for the job and quirky personal qualifications.
Candidates can also enter in-person when the Guy Mennen Sweet Smell of Success mobile job office rolls into select cities. This national tour is designed to feel more like a fun night out than a job contest. It features four dream job training centers that allow individuals to brave corners at high speeds in an exotic car simulator, pose for a photo during “red carpet moment†with a Maxim.com model, step inside a simulated WWE ring to call a match and rock on stage for a game of name that tune. In addition, sexy Gametime girls will be roaming the job office encouraging entrants to create a video application on-site.Â
Each candidate may enter for one of the six week-long dream jobs beginning on April 5, 2007. Applications must be started by July 20, 2007 and complete contest entries must be submitted by July 31, 2007. Six winners will be awarded dream job prizes on or about September 1, 2007. Each dream job lasts one work week and will occur within the time frame of October 2, 2007 and November 15, 2007.
Here’s the scoop on these Dream Jobs From Male Heaven:
Ø     WWE Fanatic – includes honorary timekeeper for a match, personal assistant for a photo shoot and personal assistant to a WWE Superstar
Ø     Maxim.com Model Scout — includes searching for the next featured Maxim.com model, video production assistant and photo assistant for the website
Ø     Cardomain.com Exotic Car Tester — includes test driving exotic cars, attend professional racing school and editorial assistant
Ø     GameSpot.com GameSpotter — includes testing unreleased games, editing game video reviews and providing original content for the website
Ø     ARTISTdirect.com Rockin’ Reviewer — includes attending live shows, reviewing new bands and developing a custom blog

Free Dream Jobs To Go Book . . .
Written by Michael on November 2, 2006 – 2:07 am -Let’s have some fun.Â
I’ve been reviewing the statistics for this site and am gratified to learn that we keep growing.
What’s most surprising, though, is where our visitors come from. The biggest group, of course, comes from the United States . . . but the visitors from countries in second, third, and forth place might surprise you.
So, here’s the deal:Â If you can accurately name the countries that represent the three next spots on the Dream Jobs Dialog originate-from list, I’ll give you a free copy of any book from the Dream Jobs To Go library.
Simply make a Comment to this post and leave your three country choices along with the book you’d like to receive free.
First come, first served, so check ‘er out and have at it.

Motivational Posters — Free . . . No Charge, No Sweat — Are Here
Written by Michael on October 10, 2006 – 2:31 pm -I’ve created a series of free downloadable motivational posters.
Feel free to download and print them as you like, pass ‘em around, use ‘em for darts, or maybe . . . take a look at them from time to time and ponder.
Go to the following links and, when you see a [PDF] symbol, this means that this quote has been made into a downloadable poster.
Right-click on the [PDF] symbol and save the poster to a folder on your PC; then print as you normally would.
Left-click on the [PDF] symbol and you’ll open the poster in a new window and you can print from there. (With this method, you won’t have saved the file, though.)
PDF is a universal document format that works on virtually any computer, but you may also need the Adobe Acrobat Reader program. Most computers have Reader installed (PDF files are pretty standard creatures) — if you don’t, you can get a free copy from the Intellectua.com site.Â
The Motivational Posters can be found here (click on any/all of the below):
Never Give Up (Success-O-Matic Step 1)
You Become What You Think You Can Become (Success-O-Matic Step 2)
Keep The Right Attitude (Success-O-Matic Step 3)
Take Some Chances (Success-O-Matic Step 4)
Make Decisions (Success-O-Matic Step 5)
Holler if questions.

Dream Jobs To Go Freebie (Courtesy of Tucker)
Written by Michael on September 18, 2006 – 12:43 pm -Okay, here’s the deal.
I have a dog named Tucker — or at least that’s what he goes by, as his full name is Harley Tucker “Little Wheezer” Werner III.
Tuck’s part goat –Â half Bassett and half beagle — he’ll gobble just about anything.
Now, here’s what I’d like to do.
A few people provide Comments to various posts here on the site, and that’s great. But, my goal is to create a little more sense of community at Dream Jobs Dialog, so it’s not just all about one-way communication from me to you.
In short, I’d like you to participate — comment, ask questions, and raise issues that are important to you.
So, anyone who makes a Comment here over the next two weeks goes into my Tucker Pool. At the end of those two weeks, I’ll write your name, if you’ve commented, on a small piece of paper . . . then, I’ll wad up each piece of paper in a small ball and toss ‘em all in the air.
Tucker will be standing by, and he’ll immediately race to the papers all over the floor.
The first three pieces that he picks up (trust me, he’ll check ‘em all out) will win a free Dream Jobs To Go book for the name written on the paper.
So, contribute to this site and get your name on the list for the Tucker Search ‘n Gobble mission.
Go, Tuck, go.
