Blogging for Book Promotion (Or Anything Else)
Written by Michael on August 1, 2006 – 5:32 pm -Annie Jennings PR (haven’t tested this out yet, so not vouching — but will report back soon) is offering a free three-session teleseminar on how to build your own blog, focusing on promoting, marketing, and selling your book.
I suspect, by the way, that this seminar should appeal to anyone who wants to blog for promotion, not just book peddlers.
In addition, Annie will select one attendee to be the demo blogger for the session, so you’ll get a free blog created by an industry pro. Others will follow along as they build the blog.
The sessions will be conducted by blogging expert, Stephanie Diamond, who has over 25 years of experience, including eight years as Marketing Director at AOL.
The three blogging sessions take place:
Thursdays, August 3rd, 10th and 17th
Time: 1:00 - 2:00Â p.m. EST
Sessions include blog strategy and book development, how to promote your book and drive sales, and how to keep the blog going. Some of the topics include:
**Â How to create a blog strategy for your book
**Â How to develop content for your blog
**Â How to promote your blog
** How to promote and sell your book from your blog
**Â How to grow your book community
Stephanie starts with a solid marketing approach to e-commerce and brings her years of experience in online marketing and e-commerce to show you how to build a blog especially for the marketing, promotion, and sales of your book.

Podcasting (Distributing Audio/Voice Files)
Written by Michael on July 28, 2006 – 1:46 pm -I’ve recently run across, but haven’t tried (so can’t vouch for — yet) an interesting session (free) on how to set up and run a podcast.
It’s running now (but you can get caught up, and the next session is 31 July).
A podcast is a way to deliver audio or other files over the Internet to listeners.  You might use a podcast to send lectures, readings, or anything else suited to an audio format to your subscribers. (The term podcast can mean both the content and the method of delivery.)
Annie Jennings PR partners with PRWeb to present the first-ever Podcasting Support Group.
The next session meets Monday, July 31st, 1:00-2:00 p.m. EST.
You can also get, at no charge, the replays of earlier sessions.
The group meets every Monday at the same time and is designed to get you up and running with your own podcast.
You can listen to the recordings of the first seven Monday sessions where the group covered the microphone and audio components (so you’ll know what gear you’ll need) as well as signing up with iTunes as an end user to start receiving podcasts in order to have the experience of being an end user, downloading a free recording, and editing software program and more.
If you have already signed up for the Podcasting Support Group, there is no need to do it again. You can use the same Bridge Line & Pin Number for future calls. However, if you have any questions you would like Annie to ask Andrew (the Podcasting Expert provided by PRWeb) please use the link below.Â
If you have not signed up yet and this is your first time attending the Podcasting Support Group, please sign up using the link below. Please listen to the first three sessions to be sure you are on the same page as the rest of the group. Please use the link above to access the digital recording of the first session.Â
The group is designed to teach you everything from the absolute basics all the way to next-level marketing strategies.
Annie encourages everyone, at any level, to attend.
To sign up or ask questions, click here.
I’m personally quite interested in podcasting and will be including podcasts here in the coming months, so this is especially timely for me.
I plan to attend this series (after listening to the earlier sessions first) and will report back.
Here’s to your first podcast.

Dream Jobber, Brick O’Neil, Reports In (Freebies Still Available)
Written by Michael on July 23, 2006 – 3:03 pm -Brick O’Neil, wants to be a full-time freelance writer, working from home.
In an earlier post, I offered some freebies (click here for details) to anyone who responded to my query about what their dream job aspirations are. (A couple of freebies remain, by the way, so go get ‘em now.)
Brick responded, and asked for the Dream Jobs To Go books on freelance writing and working on the Internet.
Here’s what he said about the How To Break Into The Freelance Writing Business book: I’ve already read Freelance Writing and it has given me several ideas to utilize in my own writing business.
Glad to hear we could help out, Brick. You can check out his new site by clicking here.

Freebies — How To Find Your Dream Job
Written by Michael on July 19, 2006 – 2:02 pm -Okay, here’s the deal:
We all know that luck plays a role in life, good and bad.
However, I prefer to call good luck knowing when to take advantage of opportunities, big and small.
Little doors can open and, when you walk through, your life is never the same again.
Let me see if I can help give you a little help, a wee nudge towards a dream job.
To the first 10 people who respond, I’ll give you two books, no charge, from my company’s Dream Jobs To Go collection.
Here’s how it works:
1. Think about what dream job you’d like to have. Go to Dream Jobs To Go to get a little inspiration.
2. Respond to this post, right here on this blog, with the following: your initials (don’t post your name or email publicly), what you think your dream job is, and which two books you’d like to receive. So, for example, your post might look like this:
MW, magician, and books on Magician and Stand-Up Comic from the Dream Jobs To Go collection.
3. Send an email to blog@dreamjobsdialog.com with your name, email address, and repeat the two freebies you’d like, and I’ll email them back to you within a day or so.
Questions? Just holler.
Remember, it’s the first 10 to respond here on the blog.
Happy dream jobbin’!
